Lately, I have been doing many bridal makeup at work and realized that most brides are looking for that clean, flawless, airbrushed look. There is a big difference in wearing makeup that you normally wear and makeup for your wedding day. I believe that good makeup artists will be able to customize a look for your special day, without compromising your natural beauty. With that said brides-to-be, still keep in mind that your bridal beauty is going to be more glam than the usual get up. Here are some suggestions I find to be helpful on your day of, whatever your look maybe:
-ALWAYS have your brows (and all other hair removal needs) in check!! Even if its a trial, it is so essential for you ladies to be groomed, otherwise it's gonna be difficult to really get a feel for what you want the final product to look like.
- If youre gonna do your own makeup, INVEST on a good foundation, concealer and accompanying brushes. If anything, no one is going to be focused on your eyeshadow combo than they would to your skin. Even if you've got natural freckles, there are some foundations out on the market that will suite your skin type. Opt for mineral products since they give medium, build-able products, if you're not a makeup wearer.
-Trials are a MUST if you're gonna hire a makeup artist. Even if you have to do several trails, its always critical since you wanna make sure everything goes smoothly on the day of. That goes for hair too, always try to do both the same day so that you have ample time to tweak it. Take pictures of it too!
- If you're gonna hire a m.u.a, make sure they are aware of the theme of your wedding. So anything you have as of current that has to do with your wedding will help you put together your polished look. JUST BE AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE. The more you are willing to show your creations, hopes and dreams to your makeup artist, the better the experience will be. Thus, makeup artists are not mind readers, we are very visual. It is better to show us anything that resembles what you want, much more than giving us general ideas.
- If you're on a medication that is altering your skin, notify your artist! Must of us are pretty experienced with different skin types and can suggest a good skin care regiment.
- ***COSTS*** unless your mua is a VERY good friend of yours, expect these services to range starting from $100.00+ for brides, $80.00+ for brides maids, $10.00+ for children. It is always almost expected to tip too!! It's a service! Most artists stay until pictures are finished, so make sure you consider that when you're getting ready.
That's pretty much it!
